We build race engines. We're also the only place in NSW that polishes gearboxes. This is the workshop side of Oz MX.
Gearbox polishing means polishing the gear faces and engagement dogs inside your gearbox. This reduces friction between the parts every time you change gear.
Less friction means smoother, more reliable shifts, even when you're on the gas hard and pushing the bike under load.
It also cuts down on missed shifts and false neutrals, and it extends gearbox life, which matters most in race engines that get worked hard every weekend. We're the only dedicated gearbox polishing service in NSW.
Cylinder porting is reshaping the intake and exhaust ports in the cylinder to improve flow.
We match the port work to how and where the bike is ridden, taking into account rider class and track type, rather than using one setup for everyone.
It's all done on the bench, in-house.
Fire rings are a sealing upgrade for high-compression engines.
A machined ring seals the head far better than a standard gasket setup under high cylinder pressure.
This is suited to built race engines running higher compression than stock.
We machine and fit combustion chamber inserts, like VHM inserts, into the head.
This lets you change compression and squish to suit the fuel and conditions you're running, without replacing the whole head.
We fit and set up performance parts: exhausts, reeds, carbs and throttle bodies, and clutches.
Parts are available through the Oz MX store.
We service and set up MX forks and shocks.
Suspension is set up for the rider's weight and skill level, not a generic factory setting.
[CONFIRM: revalves? full rebuilds?]
Tuning is verified on the dyno rather than by feel.
On request we do pre and post dyno runs, so you can see the difference the work made on paper. [DYNO LOCATION/DETAILS]
Drop your gearbox or engine off at the workshop, or post it in.
We give you a turnaround estimate of [TURNAROUND DAYS] days.
We fit it for you, or return it ready to fit yourself.
